Mark Miley, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, told reporters in a press conference that "It's possible" when asked about joining forces with the Taliban for a counterterror effort.

American officials think that the Taliban and ISIS-K are rivals in Afghanistan which will help to destroy one of the communities. Military officers have also told that the Taliban's decision to liberate all detainees from prisons the U.S. took during 20 years of fight in Afghanistan has returned to the battlefield as many as 2000 ISIS-K fighters.

The terrorist network which arose in Syria and Iraq in 2014, claimed an attack on an airport in Kabul which killed 13 U.S. members last week,  While talking with media Milley and defense secretary Austin Lloyd mentioned that "they will try to evacuate as many as possible people from Afghanistan"

"We don't know the future of the Taliban is," he said "From past experience, I know how ruthless a group of people this is, and whether or not they change remains to be seen."
